Deel 2 Reisschema op het Zuidereiland
Zuid eiland - vanaf 11/03
Aankomst te Picton met de ferry daarna de Queen charlotte drive richting Nelson dan op naar de wijnstreek Blenheim om te proeven.
Kaikura volgt na Blenheim, spotten van
- zeehonden,
- walvissen,
- dolfijnen spotten
hier gaan we duiken, met wat geluk tussen de dolfijnen, terug naar Blenheim via Nelson naar het
- Abel tasman nationaal park
- Zee kayakken
Dan gaat de rit verder langs
- de Bullerkloof
- Westport - Cape foulwind
- Paparoa
- Punakaiki - pannekoekrotsen
- Greymouth
- Hokatika
- Whataroa
- Fox glacier
- Franz Jozef glacier, indien mogelijk met een rondvlucht over de gletsjers en een begeleide wandeltocht
Bezoek aan Westland national park en Lake Matheson
Daarna Wanaka met mogelijkheid tot:
- Skieen
- Het "Mt Aspiring nationaal park"
- Cruise lake wanaka (Stevensons Island)
- Wandeling langs de Clutha river
- Jetboot
Op naar Queenstown via Arrowtown een goudzoekersstadje
Queenstown, the city of extremes
- Lake Wakatipu cruise met de TSS Earnslaw
en iets extremer
- Jet boat
- benji sprong ???
- White water rafting
- Bob's peak - skyline resto,rodelen,deltavliegen
- Skippers canyon (4x4 trip + benji)
Na de adrenaline doen we het opnieuw rustig aan en gaan we naar Te Anua
- Lake Te Anua
- De glimwormgrotten
- Chasmwatervallen
- Milford Sound cruise (meest regenachtig gebied ter wereld)
- Bowen Falls
Vanaf Te Anua gaat de rit verder langs Manapouri - Cliffden - Tautapere - Riverton tot Invercargill. Daar staat het volgende gepland:
- Stewart Island
- Southland museum & Art Gallery (Tuatarium)
- Catlin state forest park
- Bluff (voor de oesters)
- Sterling point
Vanuit Invercargill naar Dunedin via Owaka - Balclutha - Milton.
Aankomst te Dunedin met volgend programma:
- Otago schiereiland (yellow eyed pinguins + albatros)
- Octagon plein
- Larnach Castle
- Olveston house
- Speights brewery
- Emerson's brewery
- Wilson whisky distillery
Na Dunedin gaan we naar Moeraki voor de Moeraki boulders.
Het Mt Cook nationaal park staat als volgende op de lijst.
- Lake pukaki (Mt Cook nationaal park)
- Een helikoptervlucht zou een aanrader zijn
- Lake Tekapo (kerk vd goede herder)
Ondertussen komen we bijna aan het einde van de reis en is het tijd om naar de eindbestemming Christchurch te gaan.
In Christchurch ziet de planning er als volgt uit:
- Christchurch - stadsrondrit
- Botanic garden
- Punting (rondvaart met gondel)
- Kathedraal
- Kabelbaan om van het uitzicht te genieten
- Banks schiereiland - Akaroa stadje
Dan is het tijd om de camper af te leveren en het vertrek huiswaarts voor te bereiden. Het vertrek naar huis ligt vast op 26/03.

good news! op 28 febr gaan we duiken tussen de haaien
We kregen bericht van Kelly Tarlton Underwaterworld & Antarctic center (in Auckland).
Er zijn nog 2 plaatsen vrij om te duiken tussen de haaien. En we hebben geen seconde getwijfeld... we hebben geboekt.. to be continued!

An American decided to write a book about famous churches around the world.
So he bought a plane ticket and took a trip to Orlando, thinking that he would start by working his way across the USA from South to North, then into Canada and on to the rest of the world.
On his first day he was inside a church taking photographs when he noticed a golden telephone mounted on the wall with a sign that read '$10,000 per call'.
The American, being intrigued, asked a priest who was strolling by what the telephone was used for.The priest replied that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 you could talk to God. The American thanked the priest and went along his way.
Next stop was in Atlanta. There, at a very large cathedral, he saw the same golden telephone with the same sign under it.He wondered if this was the same kind of telephone he saw in Orlando and he asked a nearby nun what its purpose was.
She told him that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 he could talk to God.'O.K., thank you,' said the American. He then travelled all across America, Europe, England, Japan,Australia..
In every church he saw the same golden telephone with the same '$US10,000 per call' sign under it.
The American, decided to travel to New Zealand to see if Kiwis had the same phone. He arrived at Sunny Nelson in N.Z. and again, in the first church he entered, there was the same golden telephone, but this time the sign under it read '40 cents per call.
'The American was surprised so he asked the priest about the sign.
'Father, I've travelled all over the world and I've seen this same golden telephone in many churches.
I'm told that it is a direct line to Heaven, but in all of them price was $10,000 per call.
Why is it so cheap here?'
The priest smiled and answered, 'You're in New Zealand now, son - it's a local call'.
